The Soul

I so rarely scan and submit things from my sketchbook. There are reasons for that, good and bad, but unfortunately the most common is laziness as opposed to embarasment over the emotional content.

I was told to draw something good. And Sunday is usually when I do mostly art stuff. Sundays and Tuesdays.
Anyway, I was listening to the most recent CD I've burned ("pirate! pirate!", I know) and had my sketchbook out with some pens. I was going to color it but then I got scared of what I'd do to it if I tried. >_< So I might color it later if I feel gutsy.

23 tracks, 80 mins, listened to it twice. First time around I drew diligently, continuously inspired. One big flow. And then I started to falter. The second time consisting mostly of me staring at the page, twirling my pen in my fingers (or alternately the glowstick that still shines from last night's Cyberia), and losing trains of thought left and right.
I ended up with big gaps but it'll just have to do. I can't think of anything more that will fit! >_<

I could analyze the pastrami out of this picture but I think I've said enough already. I will say this though: each thing's significance wasn't realized until after I'd drawn them. And each time it would make a lot of sense. A few symbols in I'd decided it must be a representation of the soul and there we are. Have fun with that.

Sketchbook and gel pen (because my beloved .03 have BOTH betrayed me! *weep*)
